Filling and extraction prices vary a lot between practices. Of the 67 UK practices in our survey that publish a price for white (composite) filling, the middle price was £150 (per tooth), with published prices from £70 to £259. Most of these (59 of 67) are "from" prices, so expect your final bill to be at or above them. On the NHS it falls under Band 2, currently £76.60 in England (from 1 April 2026), if it is clinically needed.

NHS or private

NHS Band 2 includes "fillings" and "removing teeth (extraction) and other oral surgery procedures". You pay one charge for each course of treatment, and if you need treatments from different bands you pay the highest band.

What practices charge privately

These are prices UK practices publish on their own websites. Where a practice lists a "from" price we used that figure. Your quote depends on your teeth, the materials and the practice, so treat these as a guide and ask for a written plan.
